Science is LEGIT with NOEO!

Okay, I will be the first to tell you that I am a homeschool nerd mom, and I am totally cool with it! Our kids have been homeschooling since pre-k. It has been quite the journey so far. Up until this past year, we had always done the Abeka curriculum as a whole (and still do for a majority of our classes). However, I could see that the older kids were experiencing some burn out. They were tired of just sitting in a class listening to instruction and regurgitating information. I thought back to when I was in middle school/high school and tried to remember what stuck and why. Like, what did I remember from those years that really made an impact academically… the conclusion was that everything I did hands on made a lasting impression. I remember science labs, science fair projects, building salt dough terrains for geography, etc. So, I went on a mission to find curriculum for the boys that would allow them to use their hands. It was SO successful. These are not paid advertisements, just the things that we have found that work and want to pass along for others who may be in the same rut that we were stuck in!

TODAY I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT SCIENCE! I will save History for another day!

Let’s talk NOEO Science. I chose this Chemistry curriculum on a bit of a whim. I had never heard of them before, but I kept seeing them pop up on my FB feed (because let’s be real, every time you say anything out loud you start getting ads about it on FB… am I right?!). Anyway, I gave their website a look. I immediately loved how involved it seemed, how well put together it felt. I ordered Chemistry for the boys and moved on to find the next great curriculum for history class not really giving science another thought until the huge box arrived a couple of weeks later. Y’all, we are months into the program now, and I am so impressed. I always tease on my socials that it must be successful if we haven’t burned anything done or blown anything up LOL. In all seriousness, it is so well put together. In a beautiful twist, the one book we do a lot of reading from is biblically based and we had zero idea it was a faith-based curriculum. The information is just incredibly well laid out and applicable to life. The boys are retaining so much and I could not be more pleased.

So, if you are in the market for science for next year, seriously for give the NOEO website a browse. I 10/10 recommend!

Enjoy the pictures of my crazy teenage children living their best lives!
